If you have been reading Enchanted Savings, you’ve probably noticed that I don’t share much about myself. I am hoping to change that this year. I have always been shy and don’t really share much. I have always had trouble with my weight, too. I hope to lose some this year and blog about that a bit in addition to saving money. I will hopefully have lots of new recipes for you and, of course, I will keep sharing coupons, deals, and giveaways.
Here’s more about me
My name is Katrina. I am 27, married, and have a 3 year old daughter (she will be 3 tomorrow). I went to college and majored in computer science and music. I play piano, bass guitar, flute, and I sing. My favorite color is purple (that’s obvious, right?). I work part time as a church secretary and do music for our contemporary worship service. I also love to crochet.
I lost a bunch of weight during high school and kept it off all through college. After I had my daughter in 2010, I lost some weight and then we ended up moving and eating out more. Now I actually weigh the same I did when I was 9 months pregnant.
Now I want to get healthy again. I want to have more energy and to fit into my clothes better. I don’t want to have to buy new clothes because mine are too small. I don’t want to go on a diet, because that never works. I will, however, try to add healthier foods to my diet, watch portion sizes, and try some healthier alternatives to my favorite foods. I believe that if I am eating good foods, I will eat less of the bad ones. I know this needs to be a lifestyle change for the long run.
I also need to exercise more. I love doing yoga and I got a great mat from Aurorae Yoga so I have no excuse not to do it! I also like to walk and play Dance Dance Revolution (yes the old PS2 version).
My biggest downfalls are mountain dew, sweets, and chips. If they are in the house, they will be eaten. Not sure what I am going to do about the sweets because my dad just sent me a package of chocolate covered pretzels and some awesome chocolate from Germany (Thanks Sabrina!) but I will try to ration them for as long as possible. Everything is good in moderation, right?
I have 2 Android apps to help me out with this: Nexercise and Livestrong Calorie Counter (I have the free lite version). Both of these apps use mPoints so I am earning gift cards for tracking food, weight, and exercise. I have always been more motivated to do something when I am earning money to do it and this is really simple. You can look them up in the Google Play Store if you are interested in checking them out.
